The newest offering from Mercedes-AMG, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance hybrid crossover, is finally here. This luxury crossover combines a 2.0-liter turbo engine with an electric motor to generate a combined 671 hp. It features a redesigned exterior with a distinctive AMG radiator grille and air intakes, as well as an AMG Performance steering wheel with aluminum gearshift paddles and floor mats.
The power behind the GLC 63 S E Performance comes from AMG hand-built, turbo-charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and electric exhaust gas turbocharger. It delivers 416 hp and an additional 13 hp at lower engine speeds. With this power, the GLC 63 S E Performance can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
The GLC 43 mild hybrid, on the other hand, is powered by an AMG hand-built 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and electric exhaust gas turbocharger. This combination produces 416 hp and an additional 13 hp at lower engine speeds. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Mercedes notes that the M139l engine is the first of its kind in production and utilizes Formula One technology for a “particularly spontaneous response across the rpm range”.
This exciting new crossover also offers the convenience of an AMG-specific radiator grille, large air intakes, and air curtains to direct the airflow and boost aerodynamics. Inside, the GLC 43 and GLC 63 S E Performance offer an AMG Performance steering wheel, sporty pedals, floor mats, and illuminated door sills.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance is sure to be the envy of the neighborhood at its arrival in the U.S. stores in early 2024 when the GLC 43 will be released.
