When it comes to the English Premier League, Manchester United and Erik ten Hag are always striving to reach higher heights. The preseason is pivotal in that goal, as the Red Devils looks to build on a third-place finish in the 2022/23 season. With the new season quickly approaching, let’s take a closer look at United’s preseason schedule.
To kick off the preseason, United faced Leeds United – always a fun game – in Oslo and came out with a 2-0 victory. One game later, the Red Devils secured a 1-0 win against Lyon. Then, they began their USA tour with another exciting match; a 2-0 win against Arsenal in New Jersey thanks to first half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho.
The last part of the USA tour wasn’t all as successful as the rest. United faced newly promoted League Two side Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and suffered a 1-3 defeat. Sadly, the senior side also lost to Real Madrid in Houston. Nevertheless, United bounced back with a 3-2 win against Borussia Dortmund and ended their tour with another impressive victory, this time against Lens, at Old Trafford.
Finalizing their preseason schedule, Man United have one last test on August 6 against Athletic Club in Dublin, before they kick off their Premier League campaign on Monday August 14 against Wolves.
To watch United and the Premier League, fans in the UK can tune in on Sky Sports and TNT Sports. For those in the US, USA Network, Telemundo, and Universo will offer some coverage while Fubo and Peacock remain the streaming options. If you like to watch outside of these regions, there’s an array of streaming and TV deals available in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, and Malaysia.
With the preseason nearly complete, attention must now turn to the start of the most competitive and most popular soccer leagues in the world. Manchester United are ready and look ahead to an exciting 2023/24 season in the Premier League
