When Battlefield 2042 released in November 2021, it didn’t get the greatest reception, and quickly lost players. However, with the recent news of it coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, this has provided a huge turn around for the game. Senior producer, Ryan McArthur stated in an interview with GamesRadar just how important this was.
McArthur stated that he was a big believer in services like Xbox Game Pass, as it was a big moment for the developer DICE when the game released on the service. He appreciated that if it was to open up to a lot of new players, it had to be in a playable and enjoyable state.
The game has seen a great influx of players that that can try out the game, and has had the opportunity to clarify itself from the issues it had at launch. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
